Public Works Crews from Across Racine County Aid Wind Point After Storm
WIND POINT, Wis (WRJN) – The Racine County community came together for a cleanup. Public works crews from seven Racine County municipalities converged on Wind Point Thursday morning to help clear debris left by a severe storm that toppled hundreds of trees last week.
Teams from Mount Pleasant, Racine County, Sturtevant, Union Grove, and Caledonia arrived early at the Wind Point Village Office, where local officials coordinated the day-long cleanup.
Crews used wood chippers and heavy equipment to remove downed trees and branches across the village.
The May 15 storm caused widespread damage across the state.
The coordinated cleanup comes during National Public Works Week, which highlights the role public works professionals play in keeping communities safe.
