Spring Primary Election One Week Away in Green Bay

GREEN BAY, WI- (WGBW) – The spring primary is just one week away. Following that, the April 1st ballot will be finalized. Many incumbents are running for reelection unopposed. However, there are a few races where competition will be fierce.

Everyone can vote in the spring primary on February 18th to reduce the field of candidates for State Superintendent of Public Instruction. Incumbent Jill Underly faces opposition from Brittney Kinser and Jeff Wright. The primary will reduce the number of candidates to two for the April 1st election.

Green Bay Area Public Schools Board (three seats)

Three seats are up for election for the Green Bay Area Public Schools Board of Education. Incumbent Bryan Milz is not running for reelection. In the February 1 Primary election, the field will be reduced to six candidates.

Howard-Suamico School Board (three seats)

There are three seats to fill in the Howard-Suamico School Board. The three incumbents face two additional challengers.

Wrightstown (three seats)

There are two at-large seats to fill in the Wrightstown School Board. Two incumbents face three additional challengers. The number of candidates will be reduced to four in the February 18th primary election.

Referendums

The West De Pere School District is asking the voters to approve a $9.925 million referendum to issue debt in the form of general obligation bonds. The funds will be used to improve and expand the school’s trade education facilities.
