With high respiratory illness activity throughout Wisconsin, the Department of Health Services (DHS) urges you to get vaccinated against respiratory illnesses as soon as possible and reminds you, it’s not too late to get the protection that can help avoid serious illness this season. Flu, COVID-19, and RSV activity levels are increasing across the state and nationwide. Emergency department visits due to respiratory viruses have also increased, especially in infants, young children, and older adults. Brandi Anderson is the Richland County Public Health Nurse.

Being up to date on vaccinations is something Richland County Public Health encourages daily.

If you are in need of vaccinations, Anderson says Richland County Public Health offers clinics on a regular basis.

In addition to getting vaccinated, you can take simple actions to increase your protection levels, keeping yourself and loved ones safer this season.

Richland County Public Health will hold a vaccination clinic Thursday, January 16, from 1:00 to 4:00. There is no charge to children covered by BadgerCare or Medicaid or who have no or limited vaccine coverage. Adult Tetanus is also provided at no charge to eligible individuals. To make an appointment call 608-647-8821. Please bring your immunization record to the clinic.
