Once known as part of Donald Trump’s inner circle and his loyal attorney, Michael Cohen has undergone a remarkable transformation. His journey has taken Cohen from a key player in Trump’s world to an outspoken critic. He recently joined Todd Allbaugh, host of The Todd Allbaugh Show, to talk about his past and his evolving perspective as he prepares to release his third book in a series focused on life as a part of Trump’s world.

Cohen’s first book, Disloyal, gave readers an inside look at the excesses and allure, where power, fame, and wealth were the ultimate goals.
“I wanted it all,” Cohen admits. “The good life, political acclaim, big deals, fast cars, private planes. Trump’s world offered excitement that was hard to resist.”
But Cohen’s disillusionment grew as he witnessed the fallout of Trump’s actions.
“I didn’t work for Trump because I needed the money,” he says. “I was drawn to the excitement, the deal-making, and the high-powered individuals that surrounded him. But over time, I started to see through it.”
Cohen’s second book, Revenge, reached number six on the New York Times bestseller list. Now, as he works on his third book, Cohen tells Allbaugh about the loyalty Trump still commands from many of his associates. And how it’s despite the numerous legal consequences many have faced.
“Why do they remain loyal?” Allbaugh asks.
“They’re stupid,” Cohen replies. “They see Trump as a way to acquire great wealth and be part of the excitement. But it’s a dangerous kind of loyalty.”
Cohen also talks about his own journey. He shares he retired as a successful attorney at 39 and instead became a key figure in Trump’s organization.
“When I worked for Trump, he was the president and CEO of a small real estate development company,” Cohen says. “I had been reading about him since I was young, and I was fascinated by his image. But that image was far from reality.”
Cohen is now committed to exposing the truth about Trump’s world. His upcoming book will dive even deeper into the issues of power, loyalty, and the consequences of blind ambition.
