MILWAUKEE, Wis (Civic Media) — Southeastern Wisconsin is dealing with dangerous heat as temperatures soar to potentially record-breaking levels this week.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Monday afternoon through evening for several counties, including Milwaukee, Waukesha, Kenosha, and Racine. Heat index values could reach 103 degrees.
An excessive heat watch is in effect for Tuesday, with heat indices potentially climbing to 107 degrees.
Officials are urging people to take precautions against heat-related illnesses. You’re reminded to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

People can also call 2-1-1 for help locating a cooling center .
The heat is expected to persist through Tuesday before a cold front brings relief on Wednesday, with highs dropping to the low 80s.
