Two Rivers Police seek video of vehicle of interest in Elijah Vue case

Homeowners and businesses asked to check camera footage that may help pinpoint vehicle's movements on February 19.

TWO RIVERS, WI  – (WGBW/WISS) –  Police are asking for the public’s help in collecting video footage of a vehicle of interest in the case of missing Elijah Vue

Two Rivers Police Chief Ben Menniert says police have the vehicle, which is a beige 1997 four-door Nissan Altima with a Wisconsin plate that starts with A and ends with 0. Menniert says what they need from the public is video from surveillance cameras that may show the car.

“We are requesting homeowners and businesses to review their surveillance camera footage captured on February 19, 2024, between the hours of 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM, said Meinnert in a statement. “Due to the duration of the hours requested to be reviewed, we are asking the public beyond the greater Two Rivers area and adjacent counties to review their videos as well.”  

In the meantime, Meinnert says searches will continue with large-scale operations as they expand the rural search efforts. 

Police continue to plead with the public for information that will help them find 3-year-old Elijah who was reported missing on February 20, 2024. The tipline number is (844) 267-6648.

“Elijah Vue has been missing since February 20th and we have continued vast search efforts to locate him.

Tomorrow, we are expanding our rural search efforts with large scale coordinated operations, with assistance from Law Enforcement across the state, similar to what was seen on Saturday.  We again request the community’s cooperation with those detailed efforts.  Law Enforcement in those operations will have identification and badges with them.

Law Enforcement is also requesting additional public assistance in locating Elijah. During the investigation, the following vehicle of interest was identified: 1997 four-door Nissan Altima, beige in color, bearing Wisconsin registration beginning with “A” and ending with “0”. Law Enforcement currently is in possession of the identified vehicle. 

We are requesting homeowners and businesses to review their surveillance camera footage captured on February 19, 2024 between the hours of 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Due to the duration of the hours requested to be reviewed, we are asking the public beyond the greater Two Rivers area and adjacent counties to review their videos as well.

Elijah’s mother, Katrina Baur, is being held on a charge of child neglect and two charges of obstruction. Jesse Vang, who prosecutors say Elijah was staying with for “disciplinary reasons” is also being held on a charge of child neglect. Both have preliminary hearings scheduled in Manitowoc County Court on Thursday, March 7th.
